The City of Tukwila is in search of two Recreation Program Coordinators who will be responsible for performing general supervision, coordinating multiple diverse programs within our core program areas of Health and Wellness, Conservation/Stewardship, Arts, Culture, and Heritage, Enrichment, Sports and Community Building and Engagement, and contributing to the effective operation of the Community Center and its associated activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Program Planning and Development :Develop and schedule recreation programs for various demographic groups, including conducting needs assessments, hiring contracted instructors, and managing day to day program logistics and budgets.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise, recruit, evaluate, and train both permanent and seasonal staff and volunteers. Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
- Data Analytics and Marketing: Maintain records and create reports; promote programs through effective marketing and outreach.
- Partnerships and Community Engagement: Act as a liaison with city departments, the public, and other agencies; coordinate outreach strategies and develop community partnerships using DEI practices.
- Financial Oversight: Manage and forecast program area budgets, ensuring compliance with city and state audit requirements; actively seek additional funding through grants and sponsorships.
- Policy and Procedure Implementation: Recommend and implement policies and procedures; maintain compliance with administrative and legal standards.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (Position requirements at entry)
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and two years of increasingly responsible recreation program experience; or a combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to perform the essential elements of the job.
- Required certifications: First Aid and CPR certification; and Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to speak a second language (Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali) is highly desirable.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS:
