As a Wellness and Enrichment Program Site Supervisor you will play a supervisory role in planning and leading the Tukwila Parks and Recreation's Wellness Programming.
About Tukwila Community Center
The Tukwila Community Center boasts beautiful meeting rooms, classrooms, banquet facilities, and a commercial kitchen, which are available for rental. The center is in a peaceful setting along the Duwamish River. It hosts several activities and resources for seniors, adults, teens, and young children. This includes fitness, recreation and wellness programs, as well as a preschool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with implementation of community wide Wellness/Fitness events and classes; assists with direct supervision of recreation leaders, instructors, and volunteers related to wellness events and activities. Assists with event and activity promotion and marketing.
- Responsible for providing direct leadership and supervision over programs and events.
- Safeguards program staff and participants and provides for a clean and safe working environment.
- Build strong relationships with participants and coworkers.
- Responsible for tracking and coordinating equipment supply orders (as needed).
- Responsible for coordinating staff, instructor and volunteer schedules.
- Provides feedback on staff, instructor and volunteer performance.
- Responsible for cleaning and maintaining designated wellness area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to supervise all aspects of our Wellness/Fitness Programming.
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety practices, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to coordinate, inspire and motivate others.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and large groups in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.
- Ability to work independently as well as support a collaborative team environment with common goals.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with program staff, participants, volunteers, parents, recreation staff, and the general public.
- Physical ability sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Outstanding organizational skills, including ability to outline and schedule tasks, anticipate issues and needs, be detail-oriented, work within deadlines, communicate regularly and track progress.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Education, Experience and Other Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- College-level course work in Recreation, Education, or related field and/or
- Minimum of two-years experience in a similar work environment of which at least 6-months to 1-year was in a supervisory role.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a valid Drivers License/ID, or the ability to obtain one prior to employment.
- Must be physically capable of assisting and participating in physical activities. Maintain current CPR/First Aid certifications, or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
