Reports to: Recreation and Facility Coordinator
SUMMARY
Recreation Leader 1 is an integral part of the Tullahoma Parks and Recreation. The Recreation Leader 1 is a versatile position. Employees work in many facets of Tullahoma Parks and Recreation including but not limited to the following: Recreational Sports Events, Front Desk Receptionist, Concessions, Splash Island and Special Events. Employees must be versatile, responsible, a team player with a can-do attitude.
EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITY
· Front Desk: Recreation Leaders may operate the Front Reception Desk being the first interaction between customers and the Tullahoma Parks and Recreation Facilities.
· Athletics: Recreations Leaders assist with athletic programming at Tullahoma Parks and Recreation performing tasks such as book/score keeping, referee, game official as well setup and breakdown of sporting events.
· Concessions: Recreation Leaders work at DW Wilson Community Center and other remote concession locations to include athletic fields and special events. This position provides customer service at all concession stands. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, preparing and serving food and maintaining inventory. The attendant also performs on-going and daily cleaning duties in the concession stand area, dining area and other designated locations.
· Splash Island: Recreation Leaders work at Tullahoma’s water park Splash Island. Responsibilities include operating the cash register, providing excellent customer service, assisting with pool party reservations, assists Aquatics Leaders and management staff, daily cleaning duties, other duties as assigned.
· Special Events: Recreations Leaders assist at special events throughout the city in which Tullahoma Parks and Recreation manages. Responsibilities include setting up, breaking down, cleaning and managing the execution of events. Programming: Recreation Leaders assist during special programming. Examples: Arts & Craft workshops and other programming.
· Completes other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be at least 16 years of age. If the applicant is 18 years or older, a background check is required.
ADA REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements - Physical demand requirements are at levels for those of sedentary work. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of five to ten pounds and occasionally up to forty pounds; occasional bending, kneeling, stooping and reaching above shoulder level; manual dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs or body to operate office equipment; may involve extended periods of sitting at a keyboard.
