SUMMARY: Provides customer service for members of the Twinsburg Fitness Center; assists with proper use of the facility and the fitness equipment; monitors and cleans the facility and the equipment. Works 12 to 20 hours per week, mostly evenings, possibly some daytime hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provides friendly, helpful service to members and guests regarding the safe use of the facility and the equipment.
- Monitors and evaluates gymnasium, weight room and fitness room to ensure guests are using the equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Provides and ensures clean, safe and sanitized conditions in all areas of the fieldhouse, multi-use rooms and weight rooms.
- Reports emergency medical incidents to 911 and assists supervisor and emergency personnel with handling the situation, as needed.
- Ensures all equipment is returned to appropriate areas – e.g., dumbbells, medicine/basket balls, weight plates, etc.
- Advises supervisor when repair and/or replacement of equipment is necessary
- Reports any unruly guests or conflicts among guests to supervisor in to ensure a fun, family-friendly environment for all members and guests at all times.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:- Experience in a recreational or fitness field preferred.
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to maintain a courteous manner while talking on the telephone.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide as it pertains to money, measurements, volume, distance and time.

REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- First Aid and CPR training is required and will be available through the Department.
- Fitness certification is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hot and/or humid conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
