Supervises: Seasonal Camp Leader and Volunteers
Reports to: Parks and Recreation Director(s) – Recreation Supervisor
Schedule: 40 Hours per week, seasonal
Age Restriction: 18 years and older
Rate: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
JOB DUTIES:
- Assists director(s) with hiring and training of camp leader staff.
- Trains, schedules, and monitors performance of seasonal camp leader staff.
- Plans a wide variety of activities including games, crafts, contests, field trips and outdoor fun.
- Oversees daily activities, prioritizes safety and creates a fun engaging environment for campers.
- Interacts with attendees to encourage proper use of all facilities and park areas.
- Monitors behavior of camp leaders and campers to make sure all are having a safe and enjoyable time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills required.
- Previous summer camp experience a plus.
- Must be able to maintain a professional, helpful attitude at all times.
- CPR/First Aid certified on first day of work. We will provide this training for them in advance if needed.
- Regular in-person punctual attendance.
- Must have sufficient sight and hearing ability with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate emergency signals and to communicate with other employees and the general public.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
