Purpose Of Position
The Advanced Information Technology Specialist II is focused on delivering high quality IT
services to customers in accordance with the department's mission of delivering innovation
through excellent customer service. The Advanced IT Specialist II will work closely with the
HelpDesk Manager in supporting IT hardware, software, and technology projects critical to
the operations of the City's diverse business units. Provide support for City-Wide
information technology infrastructure, server, and personal computing applications. Work
Schedule : Monday through Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m

Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer Science or related technical field is required, plus at least two (2) years of
relevant experience. May consider a combination of relevant experience and education in lieu of an
Associate's degree. Must be willing to work rotation on-call schedule and overtime as required on nights
and weekends. Must possess a valid class "C" driver's license with a clear driving record.

The City of Tyler will accept two years of relevant experience in place of each year of college required in the job description. Four years of relevant experience will be considered in place of an Associate's Degree, and eight years of relevant experience will be considered in place of a Bachelor's Degree. Any experience required in the Minimum qualifications is in addition to years of experience substituted for a degree.
