DESCRIPTION
Temporary, at-will position not to exceed 1,000 hours

Under direct supervision, to perform semi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance of parks, playground equipment, and other recreational and landscaped areas and facilities, and to do related work as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Assist in the maintenance of grounds, City facilities, and related areas.
- Assist in the planting, removing, fertilizing, cultivating, and watering of flowers, shrubs, and trees.
- Participate in landscape construction.
- Mow, trim, water, and fertilize lawns and other grass areas.
- Assist in the pruning of trees.
- Operate and maintain all types of power mowers and turf maintenance equipment.
- Participate in cleaning, painting, and performing repairs to park buildings and related facilities.
- Operate trucks, hedge clippers, and related grounds and park maintenance equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
- Keep tools and equipment in clean and safe working condition.
- Provide staff assistance at various special events including setup and cleanup.
- Respond to emergency calls after normal duty hours.
- Assist in the installation and repair of sprinkling systems, and playground equipment.
- Maintain park restrooms and other park facilities; empty trash receptacles.
- Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
