The City of Upper Arlington, Ohio has one full-time (30-40 hours per week) GIS internship position open during the summer of 2025 from approximately May to September, or otherwise agreed upon terms.
The intern will report to the GIS Administrator in the Public Service Department. The intern will be tasked with mapping utility assets, transportation assets, structures, park amenities, special events and construction maintenance of traffic plans, and other city assets.
The intern will also gain experience creating map layouts and interactive maps as well as reading and organizing construction plans & as-builts, and learning about how a local government leverages ArcGIS Online.

Detailed Work Activities

- Data and Map Creation, Editing, and Analysis using Esri ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Field Data Collection
- Records Research
- Performs related duties as required by supervision
Qualifications
- Must be a recent graduate or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in GIS, Geography or a related field
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
Salary : $15 - $17
