JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As part of the Parks and Recreation team, reporting directly to the Aquatics Coordinator, this position assists in
the day-to-day supervision and operations of the aquatics facility at the Bob Crane Community Center (BCCC).
This is a part-time role which works within the normal building operating hours. Shifts could be as early as
5:00am or as late as 10:15pm, Sunday through Saturday.

• Supervises daily operation and maintenance of pool facility and equipment.
• Monitors and maintains pool chemistry as required by The Ohio Department of Health Public Swimming
Pool Code.
• Supervises and evaluates pool staff and makes recommendations to Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics
Manager regarding employment or dismissal.
• Supervises general swimming and program activities.
• Strives to maintain positive interactions with employees and community members.
• Coordinates staff in-service training with Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics Manager and other pool
managers.
• Supervises swim lesson and special event programs.
• Assists Aquatics Coordinator and Aquatics Manager in establishing policies, procedures and safety rules
for pool staff and patrons.
• Enforces and follows policies and procedures that ensure the safe, effective and efficient operation of
the pool facility.
• Prepares, maintains and submits records including, but not limited to, daily operations, water testing,
pool equipment inspections, in-service training, accidents, rescues, and biohazard incidents.
• Oversees and maintains inventory of pool chemicals, facility equipment and cleaning, office and
maintenance supplies
• Recognize and respond to emergencies as trained. Respond to emergencies in all areas of the building
as part of building emergency plans.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of pools, locker rooms, pool deck area, offices and storage.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures of the BCCC.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs other duties as required. (5%)QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least three (3) years previous experience as a lifeguard, assistant manager or manager preferred.
• Experience and/or training in aquatics and/or recreational activities desirable.
• Possession of a high school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in a related field of study
preferred.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Current American Red Cross or equivalent certification in Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid;
• Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor or equivalent certification preferred.
• Valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle
