General Statement of Job
City Expectations:
Certain essential city services are required to be maintained in any civil emergency. Depending upon the type of emergency, any and all employees may be activated as essential employees in the event of an emergency.

Essential Functions:
2. Establishes work priorities to meet deadlines to ensure an efficient workflow throughout the department in compliance with established policies and procedures.
3. Serves as the departmental business liaison with Finance and Human Resources, elected officials, regulatory agencies, private industry and the general public.
4. Makes recommendations to the Police Chief/Designee on departmental policies and procedures related to operations and personnel management.
5. Assists in departmental budget preparation, administration and evaluation. Responsible for monitoring monthly expenditures against the appropriated budget.
6. Manages procurement processes, including coordinating purchase order and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
7. Assists with planning and overseeing the implementation of Capital Improvement Projects, Asset Management Systems, and Repair & Replacement Programs.
8. Conducts studies, research and surveys for special projects as assigned. Tabulates and analyzes data for reports or presentations.
9. Maintains and accesses various data bases for Police operations.
10. Depending on projects and administrative assignments, this position may supervise other administrative personnel.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Police Chief/Designee with the coordination of multiple and varied departmental “day to day” business operations. Responsible in work to the Police Chief/Designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education and Training
Associates degree in a related field of study with 3 (three) years administrative experience, or;
Bachelors’ degree in a related field of study with 2 (two) years administrative experience.
Public sector experience is preferred. Possess a valid Florida Driver’s license, free of any serious violations or ability to obtain an instate license within 30 (thirty) days from date of hire.
Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required
Skill Requirements:
Requires a working knowledge of the current version of the Microsoft Office Professional software suite including proficiency with Word and Excel. Must have a basic understanding of the current version of the Microsoft Windows operating system. Familiarity with CentralSquare Software applications based on an iSeries system is preferred. Working knowledge of current versions of Internet browsers and Microsoft Outlook is also highly recommended. Ability to learn specific computer applications used in the Police Department.
Physical Requirements:
Work is essentially sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying items under 25 pounds such as books, papers, etc. Requires finger and wrist dexterity and hand/eye coordination to perform keyboard functions.
