GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to enforcing policies and procedures, which ensure efficient and effective operation of pool facilities including personnel management. Duties involve all swimming pool operations, including first aid, rotations, public relations, janitorial duties, limited pool maintenance, pool cleaning, cleaning of bathrooms & concession stand areas, swim lessons, water walking/Lap Swim and all other duties as necessary or required. This employee should have excellent organizational, communication, and public relation skills. This is a working supervisory position requiring weekend and holiday work.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED
This position serves under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, Recreation Technician, and the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Golf. Exercises some direction over the Seasonal Prentis Plunge Staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assisting in monthly training & safety meetings for lifeguard staff
- Track pool attendance, balance cash drawer, & bring money to the bank for deposit when acting as manager
- Ensure proper operating condition of all equipment in the concession area when acting as manager
- Handle first aid problems
- Maintain staff rotations and staff breaks when acting as manager
- Enforce the Prentis Plunge Swimming Pool rules and regulations to staff and public · Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool
- Document and reports any disciplinary problems and accidents to the Pool Manager and/or Recreation Manager
- Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, concession areas, trash picked up in and outside of facility
- Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow
- Inform the Pool Manager or Recreation Manager when supplies are needed and if equipment needs repaired
- Other duties as deemed necessary or as required

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License
- Red Cross Lifeguard Certified
- Red Cross WSI Certified (preferred)
