PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Under close supervision, maintains park restrooms and facilities, mows parks and roadways, performs related grounds maintenance tasks throughout the City as needed and performs related duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed
Shifts.
- Cleans, sweeps and mops restrooms.
- Stocks restroom with toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, etc.
- Dumps trash baskets
- Collects and disposes of leaves, dirt, rubbish and refuse from all City properties.
- Sweeps sidewalks, shelters and shelter tables.
- Washes picnic tables.
- Performs other janitorial and custodial services.
- Performs all work in an orderly and tidy manner.
- Required to perform landscape maintenance when necessary, per Groundskeeper job description.
- Monitors and communicates with park patrons for compliance with park rules.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
OTHER JOB CHARACTERISTICS :
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT :
City vehicles up to and including those requiring Class D license, tractors, mowers, blower, edger, chain saw, string trimmer, lopper, rakes, shovels, hoes and common hand tools.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Combination of one year of custodial, grounds maintenance or other experience in performing heavy manual labor in an outdoor environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
LICENSES / CERTIFICATION :
Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License. Obtain FDOT Flagging Certificate within 6 months of hire.
