JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Community Center Supervisor assigns, directs and controls the work activities of personnel performing administrative activities for the Parks and Recreation Department. Supervises the Community Center staff to ensure general cleaning and maintenance of Community Center facilities including, but not limited to, the dome, annex, arena and grounds. Provides assistance with Community Center event planning, by consulting with event coordinators.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in identifying present and future needs, related to services and facilities within the Community Center.
- Assists in hiring of Community Center and administration staff. Oversees and conducts training of new employees.
- Coaches employees in proper job performance and provides corrective action as appropriate in conjunction with Director of Parks and Recreation
- Assigns and directs work activities of administrative personnel for the Parks and Recreation Department and the Community Center staff. Inspects all work being performed by subordinates to ensure work is completed according to City and department standards and policies.
- Plans, directs and coordinates events held within the Community Center.
- Works rotating shifts including late night and early morning. Subject to after hours, weekend, holiday and call out work.
- Works well with other employees and possesses excellent communication and customer service skills when dealing with customers and the public.
- Coordinates public relations functions with the City’s Communications team, as needed or as directed.
- Meets with the customer to review, recommend and approve event plans and arrangements at the Community Center and other Parks facilities. Ensures that Community Center is arranged to the customer’s satisfaction including assisting customers with audio/visual equipment as needed. Informs customer of rules and regulations and fees associated with the Community Center.
- Develops and maintains customer accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during and after the event. Resolves customer issues as necessary to ensure a great experience for everyone attending the event.
- Ensures that the creation and maintenance of rental contracts are complete and event/customer contact information is added to the reservation software.
- Ensures accurate monthly event reporting using the reservation software to the Director of Parks and Recreation.
- As assigned, performs work orders, petty cash funds, requisitions and related items. Performs bookkeeping procedures utilizing the SAP program including but not limited to, Community Center requisitions, receiving money for contract payments, preparing accounts payable vouchers, daily cash reports for incoming revenue, and maintaining multiple event accounts. Ensures that money deposits for Community Center revenues are completed accurately and reported timely.
- Ensures marketing support for the Community Center and Recreation Department includes, updated WebPages, posting events to community calendars, preparing and distributing general marketing communications, and updating marquee for rented events in a timely manner.
- Provides information to the public regarding department and/or City matters. Receives and evaluates public information requests. Directs requests to the appropriate staff person or provides appropriate information.
- Under direction of Director of Parks and Recreation, investigates and responds to customer complaints and concerns.
- Observes and enforces safety rules and standards as well as the general policies and procedures of the City and department. Including abiding by all Community Center Rules and Regulations and all City Ordinances.
- Recommends changes to the Contract Rules and Regulations Handbook and general policies as needed.
- Reviews/analyzes administrative processes and procedures as assigned. Coordinates daily administrative work with clerical staff.
- Performs job performance evaluations on subordinates, setting goals, objectives and improvements needed in their specific job description.
- Formulates and types documents for City Council agendas, formal bid tabulations, correspondence, formal contract documents, specifications and purchase order documents.
- Assists in the coordination of planning activities for the department.
- Prepares periodic departmental reports and assists in coordinating budget preparation.
- Prepares correspondence and other written works as requested
- Regular attendance at work and arrives on time.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned or as become apparent.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Minimum of three years’ supervisory experience in a related field required; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
