The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking to hire a candidate for the BH/DS Clinician II position for Community Rehabilitation with Beach House. The ideal candidate will have experience performing difficult assessments, clinical intervention, psycho-education groups with appropriate curricula for older adults and counseling duties in mental health or substance abuse setting.
Duties:
Perform difficult assessments, clinical intervention, psycho-education groups with appropriate curricula for older adults, and counseling duties in mental health or substance abuse setting.
Provide services in a psychosocial setting with an emphasis on facilitation of skill-building; provide individual, group or counseling/therapy and/or psycho-social rehabilitation to improve aging consumer’s psycho-social functioning.
Perform necessary case management functions related to service referrals, coordination of care, monitoring/follow-up, and case documentation in accordance with quality assurance and professional client standards.
Utilize leadership and provides leadership to volunteers and professional staff to enhance services to clients.
Assist program planning, development, implementation and evaluation activities to strive continually to improve program's service delivery to clients.
Enhance personal occupational functioning to improve clinical skills and service delivery to clients.
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Maintain accurate and competent records.
Adhere to Medicaid regulations, licensure requirements and agency requirements.
Responsible for handling money and special assignments.
