Carpenter I

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpente r to join our team. In this role, you will assist in a wide variety of building repairs, renovations, and construction for City facilities. You will receive work order assignments from your supervisor and perform tasks that include :

• General maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of city buildings and facilities
• Repair furniture, doors, windows, locks, door closures, panic bars and all types of roofs
• Pour concrete, assist in framing, trim, siding, cornice, roofing and cabinetry on public buildings and facilities
• Operate a pressure washer. Have knowledge of repair and installation of brick pavers.
• Use a multitude of tools and equipment associated with the trade to construct and repair various wood articles
• May also be required to move furniture.
• Effectively assist in building or repairing all types of structures in accordance with standards of the trade.
• Correctly operate hand and power tools following all safety procedures.
• Keep neat and orderly records in order for future reference and statistical purposes.
• Must have good customer service.
• Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described in the job description.

The ideal candidate will effectively assist in building and repairing all types of structures, maintain a clean vehicle and job site, and keep detailed records for future reference and statistical analysis. Strong customer service skills are essential, as is a commitment to safety procedures while operating hand and power tools.
