The position is a professional level position responsible for the implementation of the staff environmental training, water quality monitoring, and public education and outreach components of the City's Stormwater Discharge Permit otherwise known as the MS4 Permit. The position is responsible for providing a range of program services necessary to achieve and maintain MS4 Permit compliance as well as other duties as assigned or necessary in support of the Stormwater and Environmental Management Regulatory Division in the Public Works Engineering Group.

Representative work duties include but are not limited to:
- Support education of city staff on stormwater pollution identification, reporting, and prevention activities by coordinating and tracking various trainings, developing presentations and training, and leading training sessions.
- Perform water quality sampling and monitoring of discharges to the City’s stormwater system and surface waters and data analysis.
- Work independently and/or with the assistance of internal and external partners to implement the public education and outreach program.
- Support data management related to water quality.
- Conduct field assessments and investigations.
- Manage projects and contracts.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Facilitate and attend public education and outreach activities. Activities include developing and distributing educational materials, making public presentations, and creating and leading training sessions.
- Coordinate and implement the City's Storm Drain Marking Program along with other similar initiatives.
- Assist with preparation of the MS4 Permit Annual Report.
- Explain stormwater related codes, ordinances, standards, and other requirements to residents.
Salary : $61,011 - $94,567
