As a Maintenance Worker, you will engage in essential maintenance tasks that directly contribute to the health and safety of our community. Your responsibilities will include:
- Occasionally operate light automotive equipment and specialized maintenance equipment, such as, weed eater, pole saw, chain saw, etc.
- Perform a variety of manual work to perform required maintenance on drainage ditches and systems.
- Help with cleaning and maintenance of the following to ensure proper methods/techniques are utilized: Storm water drainage structures including culverts, manholes and pipe mains, concrete, metal, and plastic pipe.
- Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.
- Carries tools, equipment, and supplies to/from job site by truck and/or by hand.
- Service/perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Assist loading/unloading materials.
- Serves as a flagger to direct traffic around construction on the roadways.
- Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.
Position is ALPHA 1 and is required to work during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, snow, etc.).
Pre-employment physical is required.
