Mechanic Technician I – Heavy-Duty Shop
The Mechanic Technician I position is the entry level of our Mechanic series and has potential for career progression as knowledge, skills and abilities are developed. Hands-on training will be provided, looking to grow our Mechanics for a career at Fleet Management.
The Mechanic Technician will performs repairs to include but not limited to:
· Automotive Services Preventive Maintenance Checklist, such as oil changes, top off fluids, tire rotation, grease components (as needed), replace engine air filters, cabin air filters, fuel filters, and adjust tire pressure
· Perform safety checks and battery checks
· Conduct vehicle inspection for leaks, worn, broken, damaged or missing parts
· Perform tire repairs/replacements
· Assists in more complex repairs such as servicing heating and air-conditioning systems
· Be able to operate shop equipment such as lifts, tire machines, and pneumatic/battery operated tools
· Must be able to maintain clean and safe work environment
· Must have basic mechanical tool set such as wrenches, socket sets, ratchets, pliers, and oil filter wrenches
· Ability to use computer, email, and fleet software to review and process work orders, parts requests and notate repairs.
· Positive drug test results may result in counseling and/or discipline, up to and including, termination. Successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
This position is designated ALPHA I and individual may be required to work in emergency events and inclement weather.
