Job Duties:
As an OPERATIONS COORDINATIOR you will:
Supervises approximately 24 members in the Asset Management bureau, a team that includes personnel who perform administrative support, contract oversight and inspection, fleet management, procurement, storekeeping, urban forest management, and horticultural expertise in support of other City agencies and other supervisory and technical personnel that provide landscape management and horticultural services for municipal properties.
Review personnel applications, interviews and selects applicants for employment.
Assists in developing divisional policies and procedures and consistently enforces policies and procedures to ensure a safe, productive work environment.
Address disciplinary issues as needed and assists subordinate supervisors with complex disciplinary issues.
Assist in development of the division's budget by preparing annual operating budgets for multiple budget units and coordinating many of the division’s budgeting activities.
Prepare written requisitions and specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies as necessary.
Responsibly spends funds and monitors operating budget through frequent review of expenditures.
Coordinates the preparation and administration of written contracts for landscape maintenance, urban forestry and landscape construction.
Verifies all financial transactions including bimonthly payrolls and payment to vendors and other city agencies.
Coordinates landscape design and development plan review and maintenance of the Resort, municipal buildings, schools, municipal parks (including athletic fields), and rights-of-way, both internally and with other agencies.
Responds orally and in writing to address inquiries from City Council, the City Manager or his staff, other City staff, or citizens to answer questions or resolve complaints relative to landscape maintenance programs or operations.

Minimum Requirements:
MINIMUMS:
Requires any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to ten (10) years, including five (5) years in a supervisory or manager position with experience supervising multiple teams simultaneously, in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, such as sustainable landscape management, park operations golf course management, or urban forestry.
Must have a current and valid drivers license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
This position may require that incumbents wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, or other designated safety attire and equipment in designated areas of risk. Specific requirements will be determined and communicated by the employees supervisor based on position assigned.
Alpha I Status: Positions within this class have been designated as Alpha I positions requiring employees to work during inclement weather, regardless of the City's operational status.
This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory drug testing. Positive drug test results may result in counseling and/or discipline, up to and including, termination.
Successful completion of a pre-employment physical.
