PARKS AND RECREATION SUPERVISOR / AQUATICS duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Pool Facility Management
- Oversee the operations of year round aquatic facilities of varying types: competitive and leisure pools
- Ensure facilities are effectively supervised; performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventive maintenance
- Provide efficient and effective operation of facilities
- Coordinate use of facility space with other department units (i.e. Fitness & Wellness, Parks, Recreation Services, Out of School time, etc.);
- Effectively assess facility operations; enforce City policies and procedures and safety practices
- Oversee the investigation of accidents and incidents occurring within the facility and ensure corrective action is initiated
- Provide leadership and supervision to all full time and part time team members including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating and discipline
- Identify staff roles and responsibilities
- Set clear expectations for team members and enforce accountability
- Build strong internal communications among facility team members and external communications with other work units, citizens, patrons, and other City employees
- Provide quality, consistent programs and services for members; plan, schedule and evaluate all aquatic programs to meet the needs of the community
- Coordinate and review all marketing information for site programs
- Offer aquatic special events; coordinate large community events with other City agencies
- Ensure reports are accurate, complete and submitted in a timely manner; develop, recommend, draft and enforce unit policies and procedures
- Ensure equipment inventory is completed in a timely, accurate, and purposeful manner; provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers; promptly respond to internal and external customer inquiries
- Effectively utilize and track resources; complete reconciliation reports;
- Assist with budget preparation; prepare statistical data and required reports for budget; follow all purchasing guidelines and utilize procurement card appropriately.
