Your Role
PERSONAL TRAINING SUPERVISOR (Recreation Specialist I) duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Physical ability to personal train and lead small group training, fitness assessments and fitness consultations of eighteen to twenty four hours per week for an average of eight to fifteen hours per week
- A personal commitment to health, fitness and wellness with an outward facing professional appearance
- Knowledge and ability to train patrons/groups utilizing a variety of techniques and modalities serving diverse age groups and fitness levels
- Enforce policy, procedures and standards for personal training program including safety, customer service and staff accountability
- Design, create and maintain part time personal training schedules
- Assess personal training program effectiveness, analyze and report data on an ongoing basis
- Continually research fitness industry trends and propose program changes to meet the demographic needs of the community
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate personal trainers
- Track part time personal trainer hours to ensure staff are not working over the allotted number of budgeted hours
- Maintain trainer certification records and provide/recommend opportunities for professional growth
- Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and performance goals
- Report as required on performance and variances
- Address patron comments, concerns, behaviors and conduct as necessary with friendly customer service ongoing marketing strategies
- Maintain detailed participation reports, client satisfaction and retention and all other statistical records for programs and services offered
- Recommend purchases for personal training program in compliance with City procurement processes and accurately track allocated expenditures
- Collaboratively build a comprehensive fitness & wellness program including personal training, small group training, outdoor programming, wellness programming, and other related activities
- Actively promote all fitness and wellness programs and services to maximize patron engagement and retention
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
