**Job Summary:**
We are seeking skilled and dedicated paid on-call Firefighters to join our team. As a Firefighter, you will respond to fire alarms and traffic accident injuries, emergency medical calls, and other emergencies. You will work to battle and extinguish fires, protect life and property, and educate the public on fire prevention.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Have a Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass physical fitness tests
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to public safety and serving the community
**Responsibilities:**
- Respond to fire alarms and other emergencies
- Operate firefighting and rescue equipment efficiently
- Perform search and rescue operations
- Participate in training and drills to maintain skills
- Educate the public on fire safety and prevention
- Maintain equipment and vehicles

All on-call firefighters are part-time employees of the City of Waite Park. Firefighters are compensated for actual hours work including emergency responses, training and special events. You don't need experience to become a firefighter. We provide all of the necessary training. This includes tactics on fire suppression, search and rescue. emergency medicine, and hazardous materials.
