The City of Wakefield, a second-class city in northeast Nebraska, with a population of 1522, is in search of a committed Utility Superintendent to lead the utility operations of our community, located conveniently just a short drive from Sioux City, Iowa, and Norfolk, NE. Reporting to the City Administrator, this pivotal role encompasses oversight and management of all utility services, ensuring the efficient functioning of our electric, water, and wastewater systems.
Primary Duties :
- Direct and supervise the utility crew, ensuring operational efficiencies and safety compliance.
- Create and manage work schedules to optimize service delivery across all utility systems.
- Ensure employee safety while operating heavy machinery, fostering a safety-first work environment.
- Possess knowledge of building and construction standards to support infrastructure maintenance.
- Maintain a thorough working knowledge of city parks, streets, and utilities facilities.
