NATURE OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Director of Development Services (currently assigned to the Deputy City Manager), the Deputy Director of Development Services holds primary responsibility to plan, organize, direct, advise and evaluate the day to day functions of the Development Services Department; including administering City-wide long-range and current planning, economic development, building inspection, permitting, code enforcement and development coordination, and other related projects and activities; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, geography, public administration, or a closely related field; seven (7) or more years of experience in municipal planning and/or community development, preferably within Washington State, including three or more years in a leadership role and supervisory capacity. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
