Full Time Firefighter/EMT
The City of Warrensburg, Missouri, is accepting applications for Full Time Firefighter/E.M.T. positions. This unique opportunity will provide the ideal candidate a chance to join one of the leading fire departments in the state. Currently working 48 hours on duty and 96 hours off duty, our work schedule is built to provide a healthy work life balance. Although our firefighters are recruitable, we have focused our retaining outstanding firefighters by creating an outstanding work environment, family atmosphere, and support from the administration down. The starting hourly wage range for Firefighter/EMT is currently $14.08 per hour (40,968.00 annually) to $22.16 per hour (64,526.00 annually), depending upon qualifications. The applicant must be certified as an IFSAC/Pro Board Firefighter I and II (Missouri reciprocity required), IFSAC/Pro Board Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations (Missouri reciprocity required), NIMS 100, 200, 700,800m Missouri EMT-B or higher, and possess a C.P.A.T. (Candidate Physical Ability Test) certificate less than two years old at the time of hire. Firefighter/EMT’s can be eligible for promotion to Firefighter Specialist in as little as two years and successful completion of additional training and certification.
Applications must be completed online at www.warrensburg-mo.gov by selecting “Employment” followed by position desired and following instructions for applying. This will be followed by a written employment test, an interview with a board, and a reference check. A conditional letter of employment will be extended to the passing applicant. The conditions of employment include passing a background check, physical (employers' expense), and the C.P.A.T. (Candidate Physical Ability Test), a current passing C.P.A.T. certificate, or within the last two years from the date of hire. The Department will reimburse up to $150.00 of the cost of the C.P.A.T. after passing the department academy training program. Once hired, the department member must live within one hour's driving time from Station 1, 102 South Holden St., Warrensburg, Mo. 64093.
