This position is vital to the overall cleanliness of the facility as it gives a first impression to our Guests. You will engage in a variety of assignments under the general direction of the sports center facility supervisor including set up and take down for events and activities throughout the facility. Due to the nature of the business, high volume times occur over the weekends and evenings, which is when you will likely be called to work. This is a non-regular, temporary position without benefits. The current workload is roughly 15-25 hours per week.Background Information on the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Center: The Menard Center is the premier indoor sports and event facility in the Mat-Su Valley. Show cased on 60 wooded and beautiful acres, the Menard Center at 104,000 square feet, includes an NHL-size ice arena, an indoor artificial turf court, (the MTA Turf Arena), dryland training center, a running/walking track, batting cage with pitching machine, three community meeting rooms, and a commercial kitchen. On the complex grounds: rodeo arena with grandstand bleachers, and one-mile paved walking trail around the perimeter of the property.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Perform general custodial duties to include but not limited to floor maintenance, emptying trash, cleaning windows and restrooms following OSHA standards.Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and outside immediate area of building.Assist in landscaping, lawn maintenance, raking and trash pick-up. Observe all rules and regulations of the facility and the City of Wasilla and effectively communicate these to the public as needed.Communicate with others in a personable manner.Assist in the preparation of multiple areas of the facility for a variety of events and activities.Be punctual and show up to scheduled shifts. Assist in guiding visitors and patrons to and around the Menard Sports Center.Collect payments from admission sales via a Point-of-Sale systemPerform general receptionist duties such as answer phone, running credit cards and Assist with various activity registrations and assigning locker room keys.Assist with rental skate check out and return.Sanitize skates and assist with skate maintenance.Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

High school graduate, GED, or equivalency preferred.Must be 16 years of age or older.
