Seasonal Maintenance Assistant
Position Announcement
The City of Watertown is recruiting a reliable, independent, and
responsible individual to perform winter seasonal maintenance
work in the Public Services Department. Under the general
supervision of the Public Services Superintendent, this position
performs outdoor maintenance work in the upkeep of the Citys
parks, park equipment, streets, and its facility grounds. The
primary function of the position will be to perform outdoor and
indoor maintenance such as tree trimming, landscaping, light
custodial maintenance, ice rink maintenance, light vehicle
maintenance, snow removal activities using trucks, small
equipment, and hand tools, etc.
Candidates must be able to operate small equipment such as
skid steers, small mowers / snow blowers, walk behind snow
blowers, pick-up truck with plow and trailer, and other assorted
hand tools and perform light custodial work. Must have a valid
Class D drivers license.
Forty hours per week and on-call format dependent upon the
weather. Often snow removal operations begin after midnight
and finish once all removal is completed. Rate of pay is $20.00
per hour. The temporary position will last until early April.
