What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor (Temporary/Hourly) position at City of Watsonville?
This entry level seasonal position is perfect for swimmers who enjoy the water and want to take their passion as an Aquatic Professional to the next level as a Swim Instructor. Swim Instructors will teach babies to adults how to swim in a safe and welcoming setting.
Important candidate characteristics include but not limited to: proficient swimmer, positive, mature, reliable, professional, courteous and consistent.
- Must have current First Aid and CPR Certificates and/or be currently enrolled in a class prior to employment with a projected completion date to receive a lifeguard certificate.
- Should have completed sophomore year of high school and have experience in aquatics such as swim team, formal lessons or demonstrate a good knowledge of competitive and lifesaving strokes.
Prior to appointment to the position of Swim Instructor, a medical examination and Department of Justice Livescan fingerprinting will be required.
