The City of Wauwatosa's Health Department is seeking an individual to serve an internship during the summer months of 2025, not to exceed, 300 hours. The rate of pay for this internship is $16.39/hour.
Under the direction of the Public Health Manager, the intern will be responsible for conducting short-term rental inspections.
Hours:Part-time, 20-25 hours per week. Availability to work alternative hours (nights/weekends) is required. This position will not exceed 300 hours.
Coordinate, schedule, and conduct short-term rental inspections (such as Airbnb, VRBO)
Assist with the short-term rental licensing process
Investigate complaints of City Code violations
Data entry and filing
Answer resident questions related to short-term rental inspection and licensing
Ability to work a varied schedule to include weekends
- A High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certification.
- Ability to work both in-office and off-site as needed.
- Ability to work alternative hours (nights/weekends).
- Possess and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
- Vehicle required and proof of insurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or education in Environmental Health
This position involves a combination of in-office work and off-site assignments The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet The candidate should be comfortable working in a collaborative office setting and have the ability to work autonomously during off-site tasks.
Salary : $16
