DIGITAL SERVICES LIBRARIAN

The Waynesboro Public Library (WPL) is currently seeking a Digital Services Librarian to support WPL in its mission of connecting our community with information, resources, entertainment, and each other.
Waynesboro Public Library provides quality services, resources, and lifelong learning opportunities; through print and digital resources as well as programs and facilities that reflect the ever-changing needs of the communities we serve.
This position under, the general supervision of the Library Director, performs professional work in the public library. This work includes managing the Integrated Library System (ILS) and collaborating with IT support staff, librarians and other staff members to provide quality digital services. It is responsible for assisting in the coordination and provision of digital library resources including digital content such as ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines, and information databases. Provides detailed technology assistance on a wide variety of platforms (PCs, scanners, mobile devices, etc); plans and conducts successful programs both in the library and as outreach. Assists with in-person and virtual reference and research assistance to patrons and collection development and maintenance. Regular evening shift and occasional weekend events.

Minimum Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree. Preferred work towards or completion of a Master’s program in Library Science (MLS) and/or Information (MLIS) from an accredited ALA school.
Experience Required: Minimum 1-3 years of professional library experience. Skill in the use of personal computers, associated software packages, hardware, and peripheral equipment. Bilingual candidates desired.
