POLICE DEPARTMENT FINANCE SPECIALIST

Roles & Responsibilities Include:

• Monitors, records, reviews, and distributes departmental expenditures to ensure funds are available prior to purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment, ensures expenses are charged to appropriate account number in accurate and professional manner, verifies department payroll is accurate and complete.
• Conducts all capital item purchasing and ensures the items ordered were received in good condition and proper certification papers have been signed. Orders and maintains all administrative office supplies.
• Reviews and verifies all departmental purchase orders, check requests, city requisitions, and expense reports are prepared accurately, reconciles administration credit card statements each payment cycle in an accurate and timely manner.
• Issue purchase orders to contractors, provide change orders, and validate accuracy of invoices to process for prompt payment.
• Serves as liaison between subject matter expert team, finance, vendors, and end users during the life cycle of the purchase order, service agreement, or contract.
• Notifies purchasers of expiring contracts for renewal or re-solicitation.
• Process renewals and extensions on blanket purchase orders for goods and services.
