Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Lake Supervisor, this position performs clerical and secretarial duties. The employee in this position assists the Lake staff with administrative duties, and assists callers and visitors in the Lake Permit Office. This position frequently acts independently in the above tasks. Essential Functions
Education/Licenses: Graduation from high school or GED required.
Technical Skills: Organizational, communication and customer service skills, knowledge of personal computers/software programs, ability to operate standard pieces of office equipment including credit card machine, ability to read and interpret City ordinances.
Problem Solving: Limited problem solving exists in relation to daily performance of job assignments. Problem solving includes handling Lake patrons’ complaints.
Decision-Making: Ability to track inventory sold and make recommendations for product and pricing changes.
Supervision: Direct supervision by the Lake Supervisor. Most job duties are accomplished with little to no supervision.
Financial Accountability: Responsible for collecting various fees and balancing receipts daily.
Personal Relations: Daily contact with Lake patrons and visitors, co-workers and other City offices.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Limited outside work.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to effectively communicate verbally in person, by telephone and in writing. Must be able to use office equipment, such as telephone, cash register, credit card machine, calculator, personal computer and copier. Intermediate physical activity including lifting 10 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally, bending, standing, reaching, and sitting at a computer for extended periods. - Monitors inventory and sells grocery products sold in the Lake Office;
- Performs other related duties as required;
- Minor maintenance and cleaning of Lake Permit Office and restroom, including area immediately around the office.
