Seeking a motivated and independent temporary worker primarily to assist in tending to the City South Yard including monitoring and processing material loads that come into the facility. Full-time, up to 40 hours per week. Up to a maximum six months.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintains South Yard parts, material and equipment.Organizes and maintains material bins and loads waste into bins.Assists with excavation of holes and trenches up to 12 feet deep.Operates a variety of equipment such as pick-up truck, compressor- skid steer, backhoe, loader.Assists with installing and repairing water service lines, fire hydrants, fire lines, meters and meter chambers, water mains and main line valves, sewer main line repairs and utility CCTV inspection.Assists in removing and replacing asphalt or concrete in City utility excavation.Assists with traffic control around construction sites including assembly and set up of traffic control devices such as barricades, cones and flag stands.Maintains a clean work environment. Performs clean up tasks throughout shift including cleaning the decant bathroom.Adheres to established safety procedures and utilizes safety equipment as required.Other duties as assigned.
