The City of Wentzville is seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Police Records Associate to join our team. This role plays a vital part in supporting the police department's administrative operations by maintaining accurate records and delivering outstanding service to the public. Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, professional, and positive service to coworkers, community members, and the public.
- Maintain a productive and compliant work environment aligned with City and Department policies and goals.
- Enter, review, and process police reports and records with a high degree of accuracy.
- Code reports according to NIBRS (National Incident-Based Reporting System) standards.
- Prepare official documentation and reports required by outside agencies.
- Serve as the department's front-line receptionist, assisting citizens and directing calls appropriately.
- Assist the public with completing forms, answering inquiries, and providing relevant resources or services.
- Support coworkers in navigating departmental software systems.
- Provide instruction and training on platforms including ITI, Laserfiche, Livescan, and other records systems and processes.
- Participate in all aspects of records management/document imagingthis includes indexing, scanning, retrieving, copying, distributing, and secure destruction of documents.
- Ensure all work complies with established policies, procedures, and timelines.
- Provide timely updates on progress and completion of assigned tasks.

Job Qualifications Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of 2 years of related experience is required; experience in Police records management is preferred.
- Additional job-related degrees or certifications may be considered in lieu of experience.
- Must pass a comprehensive background investigation.

- Knowledge of Missouri Sunshine Law and Records Retention.
- Knowledge of Missouri Uniform Crime Reporting.
- Ability to follow clear and established processes.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision and deliver own work according to specific operational targets within the department.
- Ability to complete routine and more robust tasks assigned in a timely manner.
- Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, coworkers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
- Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
