Status : Seasonal, At-will
Pay Range : $16.00 - $19.00 (Leads $20.00 - $21.00)
Schedule : Full and part-time positions available with flexible schedules offered Monday - Friday between 7 : 00 am and 5 : 30 pm. Seasonal employment typically runs from March through October. Overtime opportunities are available for weekends, holidays, and city events.
SUMMARY
Under immediate supervision, to perform semi-skilled labor in construction, maintenance, and related service activities in the Parks Division.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
None.
Leads exercise technical and functional supervision of lower-level laborers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Mows, waters, and maintains lawns and other landscapes.
- Pruning, weeding, spraying, tree planting, or removal of trees.
- Operates simple hand and power tools; operates simple equipment in moving materials.
- Assists with minor construction projects which may include work in painting, concrete, carpentry and fence repair.
- Assists with minor repairs to sprinkling system.
- Performs other service maintenance duties as assigned.
- Cleaning of public restrooms, park pavilions, park properties, and emptying of trash cans.
- Leads supervise seasonal staff and perform as part of a crew.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Must be at least 16 years of age at the time of employment.
SEASONAL PARKS WORKER
Experience : No experience required.
SEASONAL PARKS LEAD
Experience : Six months experience in performing basic maintenance or related duties.

Ability to stand, walk or sit uncomfortably for extended periods.
