As an Equipment Operator, you will perform essential maintenance and repair tasks on roads, bridges, drainage systems, and other municipal infrastructure. You’ll operate a variety of heavy and medium equipment, including graders, skid steers, backhoes, and dump trucks, while contributing to the safety and upkeep of our community. This is a physically demanding yet rewarding role that requires expertise, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain equipment such as tractors, mowers, track loaders, and excavators in construction and maintenance projects.
Perform manual labor tasks, including repairing potholes, clearing debris, finishing concrete, and maintaining drainage systems.
Conduct safety inspections and daily preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Respond to emergency and inclement weather situations, such as snow removal and disaster response.
Work collaboratively with team members to execute road repairs, drainage improvements, and other municipal projects.
Ability to resolve problems and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least one (1) year of experience in equipment operation or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties.
Valid CDL – Class B with air brake endorsement (must be maintained throughout employment).

Salary and Benefits:
The position has a salary range of $17.80 - $24.82 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefit package is also offered, which includes:
