Chief of Police This is an executive position under the administrative direction of the Mayor. This position plans, directs, and manages all police functions including but not limited to patrol operations; crime prevention, detection, and analysis; various investigations; citizen outreach; and officer training. $13,000 - $17,500 month/ DOQComprehensive Benefit PackageVacation Accrual based on Leoff Service Credits Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or closely related field; and ten (10) years’ progressively responsible experience in a qualified federal, state, county, or municipal law enforcement agency; and four (4) years of supervisory experience in police services; or any combination of education and experience providing the skills, knowledge, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMust be a citizen of the United States.Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license with an insurable driving record.CJTC Executive Level Certification, or ability to obtain within six (6) months if from another state.Must be able to pass extensive background, polygraph, physical and psychological examination, unless promoted from within the department.Complete CJIS Security Awareness within six (6) months of hire and maintain throughout employment.Mid-Level Management Certification from WSCJTC or equivalent if from another state.Certified as a Washington State law enforcement officer.First review of applications will be March 14, 2025 Position is open until filled Visit city website to apply @ www.WestRichland.org
