Position Summary
The City of West Saint Paul is looking for 3 part-time Seasonal Landscape Maintenance Workers for the period of April - September, dependent upon the weather conditions. In the primary location along Robert Street, you will perform landscape maintenance duties. The work for this position is dependent upon landscaping maintenance needs. Hours are 6:30 am - 12:00 pm Monday through Friday. You must be 16 years of age by the first day of work.
Preference will be given to those who can work the full season. Consideration will still be given to those who can work some months.

Primary Duties
The primary job duties for this role will be moving and planting various bushes and plants, trimming trees, spreading mulch, spraying weed killer, and picking up trash.
- Maintain city owned plantings along Robert Street both in the median and behind the curbs as well as various parks.
- Prune trees, weed planting beds, replace plants and fertilize.
- Pick up and remove litter and dispose of properly.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age by the first day of employment.
- Must have a current Driver's license and a driving record with no suspensions, or revocation within the last 3 years.
- Previous experience with landscape maintenance.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Care for plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Work independently and safely along a busy thoroughfare.
- Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for long periods of time while in hot, cold, or wet conditions.
- Work outside during temperature extremes.
- Use large and fine motor skills, sometimes repetitively and to manipulate garden and hand tools.
- Pull weeds and lift and carry bags of fertilizer, litter, and shrubs.
