What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pickleball Instructor position at City of West St. Paul?
West St. Paul Parks and Recreation is looking for an experienced, responsible, and enthusiastic Pickleball Instructor. This position coach's adults in a group format. Our clinics focus on safety, fundamentals, skills development, and fun. Planning, implementation, and assessment are all duties of this position. Program is held outdoors at Emerson Park Courts.
Applicants should be available Monday and Wednesday evenings the following evening dates: 5/5 -5/21, 6/9-6/25 and 7/7-7/23 starting at 5:15 pm. Then in August - Monday evenings on 8/4 -8/18 starting at 5:45pm.

1. Plan, implement, assess, and instruct a variety of group clinics.2. Create a positive and fun recreation atmosphere on the court.
3. Provide excellent customer service to participants.
4. Enforce facility rules and regulations.
5. Use basic first aid procedures to assist injured players. Contacts EMS as needed.
6. Work independently to solve problems and respond to issues quickly and safely;
contact supervisors for emergencies.
7. Maintain proper documentation for all accidents and incidents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience planning and/or coaching racquet sports.
- Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions according to the established procedures.
- Must be pleasant, energetic, self-motivated and action-oriented in maintaining a safe environment.
- Must be able to provide fun and friendly customer relations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in leadership or customer service.
- Any combination of CPR/AED/First Aid Certification(s).
- International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) Certification.
- Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Certification.
2. Working knowledge of park and recreation resources and programs.
3. Ability to sit, stand, and walk. Handles or operates objects or equipment. Reaches with hands or arms. Perform light physical labor including climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light objects.
Salary : $15 - $20
