Supports the planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of summer youth sports camps. Assist in adult sports leagues organization. Leads various sports camps with assistance from Seasonal Youth Recreation Instructors. Varied schedule includes some weeknights and split shifts. A typical week does not include Friday-Sunday work. Generally, 300-400 hours from mid-May through mid-August, depending on availability. This job posting may close early once position is filled.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Develop, organize, and implement a variety of summer youth sports camps, including creating daily schedules and program planning.Prepare equipment necessary to implement program plans.Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and staff at all times.Serve as the leader of the sports camps, including directing work to instructors.Communicate with supervisor about program updates and needs.Evaluate the program and make recommendations.Face-to-face communication with parents, guardians, and caretakers.Complete any necessary records and reports in a timely manner.Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as are apparent or assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge of municipal recreation and sports, including rules/skills of varied sports.Knowledge of applicable age-appropriate activities, programs, and materials.Demonstrate leadership and behavior management.Demonstrate effective communication skills; verbal, listening, and written.While performing duties of this job, must be able to: sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear; handle or operate objects, tools or equipment; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
