Our programs have seen an increase in the number of young people who wish to use a name or pronouns that don't align with their birth gender. In these situations, camp staff will honor the request of the child; but our staff are not to insert themselves or in any way act as the arbiter of a dispute between parent and child with regards to gender identity. If the child or teen prefers to not have their parents know of their gender expression at camp, staff will honor these wishes. Staff will never sit in judgement over anyone's claimed gender identity or expression, even though kids in our programs are minors. If there is a dispute between parent and child on this issue, camp staff will not get involved and will urge them to resolve the dispute themselves. Are you willing to follow the City's directive as stated?
