This role is a key part of our city's commitment to maintaining safe, functional, and vibrant communities. You'll play a vital part in inspecting buildings, reviewing construction plans, enforcing codes, and helping to keep our community safe and beautiful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Issue permits for building projects, signs, driveways, fences, and more
- Inspect construction sites to ensure compliance with safety codes and building regulations
- Review architectural plans and provide feedback to ensure conformance with city codes * Investigate and enforce zoning, health, safety, and nuisance regulations
- Communicate with property owners, contractors, and city officials to resolve issues effectively
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of experience in building inspection, construction trades, or a related field * Strong knowledge of building codes (Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Energy, etc.) * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various sites
Salary:
$56,634 - $84,951 per year, based on experience and qualifications

Physical & Mental Demands:
This role requires a mix of office work and field inspections, including walking, standing, and occasional lifting. You'll need to think on your feet, solve complex problems, and juggle multiple tasks.
