Description
Responsible for assisting with the overall supervision and administration of sports teams or programs. Assist in conducting team training sessions, meets, matches, games or events.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-9:30am and Saturdays 8:00am-2:00pm June 2-July 26
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive:
Plan, direct, and supervise all practices and meets; attend meetings; act as liaison between league and parents; ensure all necessary equipment is available, is setup and properly functioning. Promote use of facilities/programs through public relations efforts; recruit volunteer parents as needed to assist as score keepers, timers, team managers, etc. Provide feedback to parents and program supervisor; ensures safety regulations and procedures are adhered to.
Perform related work as required and assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED ASSISTANT COACH: None
Work is performed in accordance with standard practice and methods requiring initiative to complete recurring assignments independently and judgment to determine which methods are applicable in any given situation. Finished work is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and completeness. Unfamiliar situations are referred to the supervisor
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge – Demonstrated working knowledge of all skills/techniques necessary to conduct a comprehensive program relative to area assigned; of league rules, requirements; of competition workouts; of appropriate prescribed policies and procedures.
Skills - Demonstrated skill and operation of equipment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Abilities - To strive for excellence without winning being the priority; work tactfully with parents; motivate students in a positive way; communicate effectively with the general public and co-workers; make quick decisions when needed; follow and enforce established rules and regulations; work flexible hours.
EVIDENCE OF QUALIFICATIONS:
AGE: Must be 15 years of age or older
Experience:
TRACK COACH: Minimum one (1) year coaching/tracking in an organized program preferred;
or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
