Position Summary
Responsible for the instruction of Racquet Sports classes.

Position Responsibilities
Develop and teach class content appropriate to the course description and level.
Develop appropriate tools necessary to offer quality.
Provide feedback to class participants and proper instruction in use of support materials.
Monitor participants and their ability to participate as well as attire to properly perform, i.e., shoes, etc.
Provide a safe environment for all participants and enforce all general building policies.
Complete any necessary reports and forms, i.e., Accident Reports, Health Forms, Attendance Records, Supply Requests, etc.
Responsible for preparation for program activities, preparing lesson plans, organizing relative equipment and may be required to set-up and break-down materials used for instruction.
Attend meetings as required and is responsible for finding a dependable, appropriate substitute upon their absence or contacting all participants.
Other duties assigned as appropriate by the position.

Principles, practices, and teaching methods and techniques that provide positive motivation.
Rules, regulations, anatomy, exercise science, related technique, class format and injury prevention.

Follow instructions, remain current on the trends of the industry, and communicate effectively to the participants

Analyze and correct facility safety hazards, engage in injury prevention and learn and adhere to the facility emergency procedures.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Evidence Of Qualifications
1 year of experience is preferred, but not necessary with relevant education and/or certifications.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Child/Adult CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Independence Of Action
Work is performed in accordance with standard practice and methods requiring initiative to complete recurring assignments independently and judgment to determine which of many methods are applicable in any given situation. Finished work is reviewed for accuracy, quality and completeness. Unfamiliar situations are referred to the supervisor.

Working Conditions/Physical and Mental Effort
Performed in an outdoor or indoor setting where incumbent may be subject to noise and distraction; requires extended periods of hearing and speaking in a loud voice for up to an hour at a time; requires public relations skills in handling concerns and complaints; entails working closely with others and working with little to no supervision; requires excellent organizational/time management skills. Requires muscular exertion and/or physical strain and frequent concentration on an activity where the flow of work is intermittent or the operation involves little attention or checking; requires ability to use walk, hands to fingers, reach, climb, bend, stoop, crouch and occasionally lift objects weighing less than 24 lbs.
Equipment Used
All equipment available and necessary to teach and instruct in area of expertise in addition to use of a telephone, copier, and other office equipment to adhere to required policies/procedures.
