Parking Attendant- Part Time
Definition: Under general supervision of the Assistant City Manager, May issue citations for parking violations and collects monies for daily/monthly parker, shoveling snow, cutting grass, and garage upkeep.
Tasks: Open and/or closing garage, collecting money and tickets - making change if needed, selling monthly tags, using debit/credit card machine, Complete paperwork for daily tickets and monthly parkers, putting holds on vehicles at the end of shift, walking through garage and stairwells several times a day, be able to work events in different weather conditions.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic and bookkeeping skills
- Skill in communication and customer service
- Skill in independent judgment and decision making.
Mental and physical Abilities: Mental work efforts involve enforcement of Wheeling parking structures and parking lots with independent decision making whether to issue a citation. Physical requirements include the ability to walk up to 6-7 hours per day also stand, kneel, or squat for an extended period and to be able to write legibly.
Working Conditions: Working will involve being in a ticket booth; may involve walking up to 6-7 hours per day in inclement weather; may have to work weekends.
Qualifications
PART TIME: $12.00 an hour
Location: 10th Street Garage and/or Intermodal Garage.
Qualifications: High School Diploma
Must have a valid driver's license.
