What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Day Camp Director/Assistant Director position at City of White Plains, Recreation & Parks?
· Responsibilities: Oversee the day to day camp operation, conceptualize and implement camp curricula. Supervise all camp staff and campers. Comfortable working with camp parents. Assesses staff performance and able to take disciplinary measures when necessary. Assist in hiring staff and develop staff training. Capable of handling medical emergencies. Manage safety at camp site facility (i.e. fire drills). Responsible for reporting fire, medical issues and cases of child abuse report to Board of Health and local authorities.
· Hours & Days: Must be available for pre-camp preparations from present - June 30, hours (flexible hour) and for the full camp season from July 1 - August 8, 8:30am – 4:30pm (hours may vary slightly depending on the camp you are assigned to) Monday – Friday. Some evenings required.
Qualifications/Requirements: Must be at least21 years of age or older; must have a bachelor’s degree and / or at least2 years of previous camp experience in an administrator position. Must be organized, task-oriented and proficient in word and Excel.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal, Temporary
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
