BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to administer and process employee benefits and assist in the resolution of health, dental, vision and prescription claims. This is accomplished by enrolling employees in benefits, completing necessary forms, contacting providers to facilitate claims processing, resolving problems and answering questions, and interpreting terms of coverage and benefits. Other duties include assisting with other benefits and completing other human resources tasks as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Typing score of 35 WPM preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Pre-employment testing may be given in the areas of basic math skills, administrative skills, typing and Excel.
Experience in Tyler-Munis or similar HRIS desired.
Exposure to HR and Employee Benefits is preferred.
Bilingual preferred.

# Code Essential Functions
1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 L Provides training and orientations on multiple benefit programs offered at various locations throughout the City.
3 S Completes benefits enrollments by enrolling in offered benefits, entering benefits information, terminating benefits as requested, processing mail and insurance premiums to include cash handling, processing retirement and death benefits, and assisting onsite clinic with eligibility and appointment payments. Processes payroll deductions by entering changes in benefits and costs, and submitting changes to appropriate departments.
4 S Assists with coordination of regular benefit and wellness programs and coordinating benefit trust board meeting minutes, coordinating cafeteria plan vendors and organizations, conducting annual enrollment, incentive programs, wellness fairs, retiree recognition programs, NEO and authorizing enrollments during the year.
5 S Coordinates with benefit vendors by organizing and providing services to employees and conducting enrollment programs.
Experience: Over one year and up to and including two years.
Education: Requires High school graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.
