BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to coordinate, analyze and design methods and procedures for the development of a centralized GIS database application. This is accomplished by providing data collection/verification, CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) map maintenance, special address maintenance, support GIS developing/implementation, systems analysis, programming, and database administration for GIS applications.

Must be fingerprinted and found not to have any disqualifying criminal offences as itemized by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). Experience with GIS Data with GPS.

2 S Administers GIS servers, related systems and databases and coordinates problem resolution by coordinating work with users and vendors, designing and implementing new applications and/or features, researching problems, designing solutions, testing and implementing software and databases, verifying accuracy, troubleshooting, and maintaining all systems and software.
3 S Coordinate GIS system security by designing and documenting user policies/privileges and data maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting issues.
4 S Maintains databases by coordinating department uses, working with users on specific GIS applications, requirements and reports, developing new databases, managing tables, and administering security and policies.
5 S Provide GIS technical support by answering questions and inquiries, responding to user problems, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Experience-Related Requirements Over four years and up to and including eight years.
Vocational/ Educational Preparation Requires Bachelor's degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in business, liberal arts, or any field other than engineering or the hard sciences.
