BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to provide oversight to store and inventory activities, procure, store, distribute and inventory supplies, vehicles and equipment for city services and departments. This is accomplished by reviewing and maintaining inventories, receiving, storing, sending and issuing parts, equipment and supplies, working with vendors, picking up materials, processing requests and purchases, supervising the inventory systems, and maintaining all work orders, logs and related documents. Other duties include completing regularly scheduled inventories, monitoring expenditures and completing related duties as assigned.

1 L Regular and reliable attendance in compliance with given schedules is a mandatory requirement of this position. Schedules may be subject to change with or without advance notice
2 L Oversees store and inventory activities by scheduling and assigning tasks, monitoring work and activities, training new employees, and evaluating work and progress.
3 L Orders parts by researching information, submitting requests, contacting suppliers and vendors, comparing costs, placing orders, keeping records and following up on requested items.
4 M Receives parts by driving or receiving at location, signing for materials, unpacking and separating, reviewing packing slips, comparing packing slips and invoices, notifying departments or receipt, entering information into inventory, labeling and storing for disbursement.
5 V Supervises the inventory process by preparing schedules, locating items for inventory and audit, and entering all data.
6 M Issues and ships parts by notifying departments, charging to the appropriate department or work order, coordinating shipping with freight companies or other vendors, and maintaining transaction records.
7 M Completes related tasks by answering the phone and responding to inquiries, completing all purchasing-related documents, overseeing the internal billing process, sending summaries to departments, maintaining records, and operating equipment to store equipment and materials.
