Start Date/End Date: May 27th, 2025 through August 22nd, 2025. (Dates are flexible)
Desired Interests and or fields of study: Professional Pilot, Airport Management, Business Administration, Airline Operations, General Aviation
Special Requirements: Excellent organizational skills, ability to work independently, general interest in community development and airport operations and administration, willingness to work in a team environment, flexibility, desire to work on varying projects, and ability to be creative and unique. Must have a valid driver's license and be 16 year of age or older.
Detailed Job Description: The summer internship offers a paid opportunity with the Williston Basin International Airport, a department within the City of Williston, ND. The internship program is a combination of mentoring, learning activities, and project work designed to give a broad exposure to the inner workings of the airport environment.
Within the first week of the internship, the intern will identify with the Airport Director the details on a project to be completed throughout the term of the internship. This project will be tailored to the intern's background interests or field of study.
Experiences will include but not limited to: Airport Operations, Aircraft Fire Fighting, Flight Instruction, Aircraft Services, Airport Security, Tenant and Community Relations, Other;
Learning Outcomes: By the close of the internship, the student will increase their general understanding/skills in the following: Airport Management, Airport Operations, Aircraft Rescue Firefighting, Air Service Development, Community Relations;
Complete the following tasks and or projects: Tasks will vary.
The internship will consist of 40 hours per week and the compensation will be $17.00 per hour. Please note, the hours per week can be flexible and tailored towards the intern. We want to see our interns have a great experience.
